Catch On Group has been engaged with the NHS since 1998. We have been at the forefront of cutting edge management and leadership development - from the days of Primary Care Groups where GPs were leaders of the model through to clinical commissioning where GPs again assume that role and more, thereby fulfilling our belief that general practice is at the heart of the NHS... and that we can help them do it better.

We fully support the strategic direction that the recent Government has set out in its bill. Detail aside, when consulted, it is widely believed that GPs as clinical commissioners can make a significant difference to the future of the NHS - for the better. That means better healthcare and spending the NHS budget wiser. For example, GPs can begin to take more preventative measures rather than reactive measures, set up structures that ease the challenges of demand management and work closely with the specific needs of their local population requirement.

So, in essence GP's will be doing what they believe in... which is to serve their patients better.

It all sounds very easy but...

The change we need to achieve needs a paradigm shift in thinking, a shift in management behaviour, consideration in regard to organisation structure, operations and resource allocation. As an organisation recognised by the Department of Health for its expertise, and one that set up a number of the first wave pathfinders in the early days of practice based commissioning, we understand what needs to be done to keep your approach focussed and functional but lean. We are working with GPs, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG's) and PCTs to support, consult and provide resources that help achieve compliance and enable positive, forward movement and a successful pathway towards authorisation.
